The purpose of this class is to provide management of training and organizational development initiatives for the college and staff. Plan, develop, coordinate, administer, conduct, and review all day-to-day operational activities in the Human Resources training and organizational development unit. Effectively identify and address training and organizational development needs, create developmental paths and relevant courses, train employees, and document successes as well as areas for improvement. Manage and perform administrative work in support of the training and organizational development functions. Supervise subordinate employees. Must have a valid driver's license in good standing with violation points less than five (5).
Master's degree in Human Resources, organizational development or related field from an accredited institution with five (5) years of experience in training, organizational development, human resources management and/or education. Recent experience must include three (3) years training adults in a professional setting, preferably higher education, including planning, developing, and presenting curriculum.
Certified Professional in Talent Development from the Association for Talent Development Preferred. Current Human Resources Certification from the Society of Human Resource Management or HRCI preferred.

- Manage the training processes for exempt and nonexempt employees.
- Develop and recommend training policies and procedures.
- Manage the organizational development policies and strategies that align with CCBC goals and vision and reflect CCBC's business policies.
- Conduct needs assessment surveys and prepare and analyze reports.
- Serve as point of contact for training and organizational development initiatives.
- Serve as liaison between college departments and staff for employee development and training initiatives.
- Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned staff.
- Remain knowledgeable about the current best practices for adult training and philosophies.
- Remain knowledgeable about the college, its structure, culture, policies, and practices as well as current and future employee development and training needs.
Identify and address workforce training needs for CCBC, ensuring staff are appropriately trained in individual development and college-wide training activities.
- Provide training support to the Executive Director of Human Resources, and other CCBC leadership to identify, determine, and address individual employee competency gaps and overall training and development needs for new and existing leaders and employees.
- Identify, develop, and prepare overall curriculum learning paths as well as specific curriculum for individual courses to address training and development needs for employees and leaders.
- Develop, schedule, and communicate to employees, internal and external employee training and development opportunities, including mentoring programs, which will address knowledge and skill gaps as well as employee advancement.
- Handle logistics for training activities, including venues, materials, trainers, and equipment.
- Create, facilitate, and present training programs using recognized training techniques (classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching, mentoring programs, etc.) and training tools, appropriately addressing staff training needs.
- Develop and create training manuals and handbooks, liaising with subject matter experts regarding instructional design and content.
- Set up calendar, reserve rooms, and arrange lunch as appropriate. Modify arrangements as needed for special calendar and hiring events. Follow-up with participants to ensure attendance. Maintain and update accurate databases to include attendance tracking.
- Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and provide feedback to program participants, trainers, and management.
- Identify and address overall organizational development needs for CCBC, by developing systematic methods to enhance the capabilities of people, groups, and organizations connected with CCBC.
- Manage aspects of organizational development, such as change management initiatives, performance measurements, employee engagement, and organizational surveys, ensuring CCBC staff are appropriately trained in college-wide organizational development activities.
- Assist CCBC in becoming more productive by leveraging expertise, cutting costs, reviewing processes, and reducing organizational redundancy.
- Conduct a diagnosis of the organization's current state through workshops and various assessment tools.
- Consult with leaders and teams across the college to help improve productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Implement organizational strategies and initiatives that align with CCBC goals and vision and reflect the current business landscape.
- Create curriculum, train staff, and perform key coordinator functions to support the Human Resources initiatives regarding Organizational Development within the College.
- Coordinate multi-departmental training events, such as the New Hire Orientation, to include setting up the facility for internal training and seminars, scheduling speakers from the Human Resources department, union, and/or others, and managing the transition between speakers. Deliver welcome and introduction modules.
- Plan, schedule, ensure completion, track, and report on CCBC required training, such as Sexual Misconduct Prevention training.
- Provide leadership with information regarding best practices, new research ideas, training resources, and training trends in higher education with the goal of supporting and refining the training program's success.
- Develop and coordinate programs for the annual Professional Development Conference.
- Work to fulfill CCBC's commitment to diversity by collaborating with leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate employee training and organizational development strategies to retain and support a well-qualified and diverse workforce for all categories and levels of positions.
- Provide superb customer service to internal and external customers, using effective listening skills and ensuring timely research and follow up through resolution. Responds to emails and phone calls within 24 hours and participates effectively in collegiate discussions, ensuring positive interactions with employees at all levels of the organization.
