Job Summary
Designs, develops, implements, and maintains network and network security and access controls for the University on prem, off site locations, and cloud. Designs, develops, documents, tests, debugs, secures application software, systems, network, and architectures used by enterprise users. Deploy and manage network and cloud security controls. Monitor network and cloud environments and pro-actively mitigate risks. Implement access controls.

Job Summary
Designs, develops, implements, and maintains network and network security and access controls for the University on prem, off site locations, and cloud. Designs, develops, documents, tests, debugs, secures application software, systems, network, and architectures used by enterprise users. Deploy and manage network and cloud security controls. Monitor network and cloud environments and pro-actively mitigate risks. Implement access controls.
- Secures Office365, Azure, AWS, and other cloud platforms.
- Deploys and manages cloud security controls. Provides guidance on security controls and standards.
- Assists in the creation of cloud-specific security policies, standards, and procedures including firewall management, identity, and access management, SSO, and vulnerability management.
- Performs cloud security assessments.
- Monitors network and cloud environments and pro-actively mitigate potential incidents. Troubleshoots and resolves security issues in the cloud and on-prem environments.
- Assists in the evaluation of new solutions and gather technical requirements.
- Analyzes security vulnerability reports and develops a plan to mitigate critical vulnerabilities.
- Works with other IT Admins to gather requirements, performs troubleshooting, and aids with the creation of searches and alerts.
- Creates and maintains documentation, architecture diagrams, and online collaborative documentation.
- Assists with troubleshooting connectivity issues related to VPN, Two Factor, and wireless.
- Assists with the management, configuration, and troubleshooting of Identity Service Engine (ISE) environment.
- Performs essential duties during any emergencies, such as hurricanes, storms and/or any other University emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during University emergency closings with appropriate notification by department administrator.
- Bachelor's degree in a computer related field and five (5) years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Experience in a PeopleSoft environment.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management/Single-Sign-On (SSO) solution.
- Experience securing Azure, AWS and/or other cloud environments.
- Proficiency with SIEM and vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Rapid7 or Qualys.
- Experience managing Web application firewalls and next gen firewalls.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud security architecture.
- Experience maintaining system security using packet filtering, logging, and intrusion detection systems in production computing environments preferred.
- Experience implementing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Experience with Network Access Control.
- Knowledge of emerging security technologies, software, and methodologies
- DevSecOps experience with Ansible or other automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of wireless protocols and security.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including OSI, network protocols (TCP/IP,DNS, DHCP,SNMP).
- Prefer any of the following certifications:
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate or
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or
- Azure Security Engineer Associate.
- AWS Certified: DevOps Engineer.
