Human Resources Manager

  • Position Type: Salaried, Full-Time, Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Job Summary:  The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including supervising the recruiting and selection of staff, administering annual pay increases, and supporting school administrators with employment related policies and practices.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with District policy.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR specialists and associates, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Creates learning and development programs to equip supervisors and Administrators with operational knowledge of HR practices.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, school and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Knowledge of school law and Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulations preferred.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • pHCLE, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Work Environment 

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
