Job Title: Custom Woodworking Fabricator

Job Summary

New ownership team is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Custom Woodworking Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craftsmanship, a strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, and the ability to fabricate custom millwork pieces for residential, commercial, and specialty projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication of Custom Millwork: Accurately cut, shape, and assemble custom millwork pieces based on design specifications, blueprints, or sketches for a wide range of woodworking projects (e.g., cabinetry, doors, trim, and specialty items).
  • Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials based on project needs, ensuring that wood types, veneers, and finishes are well-suited for functionality and aesthetics.
  • Precision Cutting & Joinery: Use both traditional hand tools and modern machinery (table saws, routers, CNC machines, etc.) to cut, shape, and join materials precisely.
  • Quality Control: Inspect fabricated pieces for accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship. Ensure that all work meets the project’s design and durability requirements.
  • Tool Maintenance: Maintain and operate woodworking equipment and tools, ensuring they are kept in safe, working condition. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machines.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside project managers, designers, and other team members to meet project goals, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Problem Solving: Address challenges that arise during fabrication or installation, and develop creative solutions to meet client specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in custom woodworking fabrication, with a proven track record of producing high-quality custom pieces.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with woodworking tools and machinery, including saws (table saw, miter saw), routers, sanders, drills, and CNC machines.
    • Ability to read and interpret detailed plans, blueprints, and CAD drawings.
    • Knowledge of wood species, finishes, and adhesives.
    • Strong attention to detail and precision in every aspect of the job.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.), stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for working with team members and clients. Ability to follow written instructions and safety protocols.
  • Time Management: Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines and keep projects on track.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or Training: Formal education in woodworking, carpentry, or a related field is a plus, though not required.
  • CNC Machine Experience: Previous experience with CNC routers and programming is highly desirable.

Job Specifics

  • Type: Full time in person (40 hours per week).
  • Schedule: 8 hour shift +OT as required.
  • Pay: $25+ per hour (commensurate with experience).
