Salary: Approximately $185,000 - $260,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education

About PSRS/PEERS
PSRS/PEERS is the largest defined benefit pension plan in Missouri. Our investment program fuels the majority of the funds needed to provide pension benefits for more than 298,000 Missouri public school personnel and their families. The market value of invested assets for PSRS/PEERS is approximately $53.5 billion as of June 30, 2022.
Our 161 employees work out of our headquarters in a recently remodeled/expanded building located at 3210 West Truman Boulevard in Jefferson City. We are now adding a satellite office in St. Louis, Missouri where this position will work out of. We provide state-of-the-art technology and security.
About the Job
As a Portfolio Manager, you will work as part of a deal team to invest in private credit and private equity partnerships. Additionally, you will work on deal teams that invest capital directly in private companies through both equity and debt. You will also monitor a portion of PSRS/PEERS’ $12 billion private equity and private credit portfolios, including more than 500 partnerships/investments. Your work will include intensive research and quantitative and qualitative analyses of potential private investments.
Our Portfolio Manager for Private Markets will interact with external consultants and senior members of private equity and private credit groups. The Portfolio Manager will also lead/actively participate in due-diligence meetings and present recommendations to an internal Investment Committee.
This position reports to our Managing Director of Alternatives. Some overnight travel is required.
Job Requirements
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or a related field. An MBA and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is also required, along with at least six years of institutional investment experience.
