Position Summary

International Admissions Coordinator - International Education and Services
Full-time

International Education and Services (IES) at Southeast Missouri State University is housed in the International Village on the Southeast campus. IES contributes to comprehensive internationalization efforts across the campus through oversight of the Intensive English Program (IEP), international recruitment and admissions, support services for more than 1,000 international students, and study abroad. The International Admissions Coordinator is an entry-level, professional position in an important and growing field. The coordinator will play a critical role on the international admissions team by coordinating communications and through involvement in various admissions related processes. We seek a dynamic, ethical, motivated professional with excellent customer-service skills, a passion for learning, and a desire to help international students achieve their academic goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication from the international admissions area to prospective students and recruitment partners
  • Learn all aspects of the international admissions process in order to provide backup support for all areas, especially during busy times and when the Assistant Director is out of the office
  • Develop reports to monitor application processing times, and work to identify and implement efficiencies so application turnaround time is as fast as possible    
  • Maintain and update SEMO’s international admissions website and training documents
  • Create and enhance international marketing and recruitment materials   
  • Create regular communication pieces for SEMO’s contracted recruitment agents to provide them with important information and updates
  • Coordinate the processing of commission payments for SEMO’s authorized recruitment partners
  • Participate in some international recruitment activities (both virtual and in-person)

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree   
  • Strong writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively and appropriately with people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds  
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience interacting with non-native English speakers and public speaking  
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Basic understanding of the university admission process (international or domestic)  
  • Strong technical proficiency with a demonstrated ability to work across multiple software platforms simultaneously 
  • Experience with electronic reports and making data-informed decisions 
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends 
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
