The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time appointment stream faculty position in the Department of Restorative Dentistry/Comprehensive Care at the Instructor level. The primary responsibilities include a general dentistry practitioner who is also able to provide clinical instruction and supervision of dental students and dental hygiene students during treatment sessions for individuals with endodontic healthcare needs. Furthermore, the general dentist practitioner will need to provide restorative dentistry to the patients at the University Dental Health Services (UDHS) two days a week. Qualified candidates must possess or be able to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; have a DDS/DMD; and have developed an area of clinical excellence. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and credentials.
Pitt Dental Medicine is located on the University's main campus in Pittsburgh, contiguous with the other five health science schools. The School’s general dental clinics and 11 specialty clinics play an integral role in improving the oral health of the patient population of southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond. As part of the clinical practice and faculty of the University of Pittsburgh, the practitioner will have the opportunity to collaborate with clinicians, innovators, and investigators from around the world and become part of a vibrant community of healthcare providers dedicated to making a difference in their chosen field and in the lives of others. University Dental Health Services is a group dental practice that employs Pitt Dental Medicine faculty practitioners who provide high-quality dental care to our community. This position will give the faculty member the opportunity to practice in a private practice setting and be able to diagnose and treat patients for their dental needs.
