Job Summary/Basic Function:

Program Development
● Establish programming curriculum for Pre-College Resident Advisors to implement
● Coordinate a welcome event as part of the Pre-College orientation process
● Develop assessment to determine impact of Pre-College residential initiatives

Staff Supervision
● Train, supervise, and evaluate a staff of eight (8) Pre-College Resident Advisors
● Hold biweekly one on one meetings with each staff member
● Execute a weekly staff meeting with Pre-College Resident Advisors to address concerns
and plan for the upcoming week

On-Call Support
● Advise Pre-College Resident Advisors and Campus Safety on crisis response for
Pre-College residents
● Respond as needed to situations that arise and write corresponding incident reports

Housing Operations
● Oversee the opening and closing processes for Pre-College residents
● Assist with room assignments for Pre-College residents
● Follow up with maintenance and facilities issues as they arise; ensure that Pre-College
Resident Advisor staff are proactively addressing facilities issues

Communication with Pre-College Staff
● Refer students to campus partners and resources
● Provide information about Pre-College and Wheaton College Code of Conduct and
Student Handbook as necessary
● Monitor and report concerns to Coordinator and/or the staff members on call

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a current graduate program.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of paraprofessional experience within a higher education workplace setting.

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.00/hour.
